signs of the times
USCCB - (NAB) - August 16, 2006: "Pass through the city, through Jerusalem,
and mark a 'Thau' on the foreheads of those who moan and groan
over all the abominations that are practiced within it."
According to Fr. Ron, a 'Thau' is an X. So believers who were mourning the darkness that they witnessed all around them were marked with an x. How about us? How do we determine who is mourning the sinfulness encountered today? How much are we mourning the atrocities that are happening these days...in the world and in our own lives? Are we part of the solution or part of the problem? There is a HUGE spiritual battle raging...what are we doing about it?Hopefully our mourning is a bit more productive then simply sitting around feeling sad and hopeless about the situation at hand. Being Christian means that we have the power of Christ within us to walk freely and to help set others free.
(Mk 16: 15-18)says...
"Go out to the whole world; proclaim the Good News to all creation...These are the signs that will be associated with believers: in my name they will cast out devils; they will have the gift of tongues; they will pick up snakes in their hands, and be unharmed should they drink deadly poison: they will lay their hands on the sick, who will recover."
(I've had several posts today that didn't go through at the other blogs(so we'll see what happens here with this one)...but enough to say that God is hard at work in this area of my life right now.)
